Weds May 4
Welcome Month of May (Weather still s***s)
We start with good news from Mikey. Seems Roger made it through double by-pass surgery this morning and is doing very well. We look forward to more good reports as he recovers. In an effort to ease Roger's concerns, I checked on Richmond Pond today (though not as close as Andy did) and can report it looks okay, although Mikey thinks it could use a rest. Perhaps once a week?
Anyway, we are pulling for you to be back as soon as possible.
Our first round of May felt a lot like Feb or March temp wise, thankfully only light winds. Being the 4th day of the month, we threw in another CTP on hole 4.
Jeff, Mikey, and Norm were the first team off. Mikey walked, so it looked strange to see Norm and Jeff driving separately.
I asked Norm what the deal was, and he said, "I just don't like the smell of cigar smoke." Jeff simply said; "I don't like the smell of muddy feet." Not surprisingly, they didn't cash in today.
Andy's +1 on the day helped his team to a tie on the back 9. Let's take a look at the swing of "The Old Master" (old in a nice way).
May could not have come any sooner for Doc. The yearlong drought of last year's CTP champ is over. A tidy little shot to 15 feet on 18 edged Keith's 19-footer to earn his first of the year. Doc's excited comment followed, "The floodgates have opened, I expect to be back in first place by the end of the month". Doc was also medalist at +6, 1 of only 2 players to move up on point list.
Glen and Randy tied for high point total (31) which meant nothing on the team scoreboard.
It is time to look at the big winners today. Dean's +4 was the other upward arrow, and Raymond took bonus CTP on no. 4.
If Scott and Raymond seem to be smiling a lot more than Dean, it is because they are coming off a pretty rough April as far as winnings go. Dean wins ALL the time, so it's no big deal.
