Friday 13th Results, April Review, Bud's Boys at Bluff
Lots of stuff in this weekend edition, let's start with a reminder.
Tuesday Tee Times Start at 8:30 This Week Only!
Bud's Boys at Bluff
Congrats to Bob, Raymond, Bill, and Leroy for placing in the money at SEMO Seniors event Thursday at Poplar Bluff. Great job upholding the group's honor! Clint, Randy, Glen, and Gary will endeavor to improve their scores at St. Francois CC.
I asked Clint what he thought of the Ozark Ridge course. He responded in his best Tiger Woods impression as he hurriedly walked away: "It holds the heat really well."
April Review
Weather again tough on the Boys as we were only able to play 14 days, 3 less than 2021. Thirty different golfers played a total of 184 rounds, roughly 13 player a day average. No surprise that Scott led the way by playing all 14 days.
Randy, Glen, and Mikey checked in with 13. Scott will be rewarded with the equal prize as winning Medalist for his efforts.
Glen, Roger, and Leroy walked away with the most April cash. Raymond and Scott were on the opposite end of the spectrum.
Fortunately, they both started May with big wins. Unfortunately, we found out what happens if Norm isn't paid promptly after the round.
Biggest highlight is Josh's Ace on 18. Raymond has 3 CTP's for the month, only player to have more than 1.
Friday 13 Results
Bill is Medalist at +6, to no avail as his team failed to win an event. Jeff's game high 30 points and Rodney's first CTP gives their team 2 events. Rick, Randy, and Allen ride their 6 birdies to win Rabbit, Back, and Total. We started the day with 13 players, but with this being Friday the 13th, you knew something strange would happen. As you will see from the result page at the end of the blog, we only finished with 9. Details are a little sketchy, but I will try to piece together the evidence available as to what transpired in the end. It is a fact that the weather turned a little ominous near the end of the round.
It is also true that groups 1 and 2 were finished and sitting out on the deck when 2 members from group 4 (Butch and Leroy) pulled in before completing their round. They joined us on the deck. Here's where I received differing accounts from those in attendance. One version had Butch being afraid he would miss the bus back home. Another was that perhaps Leroy overreacted to the situation at hand.
For those of you willing to stick it out this far, I guess I should throw in a gratuitous Billie Jo appearance. Imagine, if you will, that instead of Bengals, her top read Bud's Boys. Look at it very closely, often if you must, and you can actually picture it in your mind.
