Mon Apr 1(Really)

 Bud's Boys Welcome April

As you can tell from the hands in pockets and winter attire, April came in a little on the chilly side. The Boy's obviously couldn't adapt to the conditions as the group finished a rather embarrassing -41. In fact, of the 15 players, only 3 scored well enough to see their number go up.  Here's where the numbers get tricky. What are the odds,

what are the odds that with 5 3-person teams, that those 3 plus players would be on the same team? It seems our co-medalists Mikey and Clint (+4) were joined by Allen (+2), the only other plus scorer on the day, in the same group. Needless to say, they handily swept the FBT, 20 points ahead of second place.

Raised eyebrows, quizzical looks, and much grumbling could be heard, but an accounting audit of Allen's scorekeeping and the absolute spotless reputations of Mikey and Clint quickly settled everyone's doubts of foul play. Fellowship and adult beverages soon followed.

The Winners Proudly Pose

Mikey's smile says it all! Actually, Doc is not part of the team, he is just campaigning. Doc, Tom, and Glen (most points 32) did take the Rabbit in 12 holes, and Raymond wins his 4th CTP of the young season.

Bud's Boys Golf Tips

The PGA has Hank Haney for golf instruction while Bud's Boys, as previous readers know, has Mr. Haney.

Take it away Mr. Haney.
MR HANEY:  Let's start today's tip with a question. Do you know why giraffes suck at golf? They can't keep their heads down! Hee-hee I just amaze myself sometimes. But seriously, today's tip is really basic. As my student Tom A likes to say, if you see clouds when your club strikes the ball, it's probably not going to end well. So, today's tip is simply to see the club strike the ball. Keep your head down. See you soon and remember to eat only Hooterville Rutabagas.

Thanks Mr. Haney, on to todays featured swing. In fact, today is a two-fer. Our 2 biggest hitters in action. Watch and learn.

Bud's Boys Swing of the Day

Glen uses a Callaway Epic and Tom hits a Cleveland Launcher. Rumor is it is a Hogan model possibly used by Hogan. And no, it does not have a hickory shaft. It just looks that old. All comments and analysis welcome. I noticed both watched the ball at contact. Mr. Haney would be proud.

The Masters is Here

The Masters will be played starting Thursday. If you enjoy watching, especially Saturday and Sunday, might I suggest you add to the fun by getting into our Masters Fantasy Contest. Weather permitting we take our own score on Thursday and Friday and let the Pros take over Sat. and Sun. You will team up with 1 or 2 pros for final score. More details to come, check Blog later in week especially if we do not play Tues. or Weds. Oh, I almost forgot. The winner gets this Green Jacket that will be presented by our very own Billie Jo.

Don't know about you, but this is one presentation I do not want to miss.
