 5-Dollar Friday

The round started, in the words of Raymond, as the coldest 50 degrees I can remember. Cold breeze combined with complete cloud cover made for a quite uncomfortable beginning. Heavy coats, covered ears, and gloves did their best to warm the players.


Last group to tee off is always the coldest.



You may recognize the golfer above. Yes, it is Floyd making first appearance since Feb 1. He has been sunning in Floy-rida and was a little shocked at the change in temp. I received a text on 2nd tee box:


84 degrees here in Arizona. 

Doc, you are not helping. Besides, don't you realize we are trying to golf? More on Doc later.
Thankfully the sun broke free on the back, making for a more than pleasant finish weatherwise.

On the course, Bill was Friday Medalist at +3, one up on Glen, Scott, and Shelly. Glen scores most points with 34.

 Two great tee shots on No. 4 by Raymond and Butch. Raymond converts this birdie and adds another on No. 9, but it was not enough to stop Tom, Glen, and Scott from taking the Rabbit. They also take front and total to claim top money. Clint's first CTP led his team to top back 9 score.

Look Who is Styling His Bud's Boys Lid! 


Yes, it is the Bud Man himself after Tom delivered it to him today. Being the modest, humble person he is, he is naturally a little embarrassed at the attention. But to show his sincere appreciation, he has offered to autograph all of our Bud's Boys hats personally for only $49.99 per hat (by appointment only). Thank you, Bud, for lending us your name to promote a great group you helped start. Of course, I was joking about the 49.99. Bud said 10 bucks is plenty.

Doc is Candidate for Kimbeland Board

Doc is running for a seat on the Kimbeland Board of Directors. This just came up so I will turn this over to his campaign manager for more information.

Billie Jo: Boys, when I wear my glasses, I am in a serious, scholarly mood. So, listen up.


If any of you are shareholders, you will be getting an updated letter with Doc's name as a candidate. If you are not planning on going to the meeting, please make sure your proxy gets to Doc. Also, ask anyone you know to support Doc. Let's collect all the proxies we can to be sure Doc gets a seat. More info to come.  I would really appreciate it if you could do this for me!

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. St. Pat's Day Sunday 3/17

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. The Bud Marshall Regional has Scott and Roger facing off with the winner going up against the Bob vs. Tom match. T

Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
