Mikey fires 2 hole-in-ones in same round!

While the rest of us sat out Wednesday, fearing a little wind, Mikey went out on his own and carded a hole-in-one on No. 4, and followed up with an Ace on No. 8. This brings Mikey's career total of Aces to 12. Coincidentally, all have been accomplished when playing by himself. Reports from a course worker say Mikey congratulated himself all the way down the 9th fairway. Bud's Boys salutes you Mikey!


Board Reverses Policy on Monday Play

In a stunning reversal, the Board announced play will be allowed on Mondays. This is exciting news to many who wanted their Mondays back. Unfortunately, the course will be closed the other 6 days to let the course rest. In related news, the board announced they will meet only once a year, instead of monthly, to give themselves more rest between meetings.









Big A to Play Black Tees on 18

To make things fairer, Glen said he will hit from the Black Tees on 18. He figures to still win his share because, in his words, "Haven't seen much to impress me. Plus, there are trees back there in case I need to quickly take cover."




New Number System

We have a new simpler way to calculate our handicap, that will start immediately. Instead of using our daily scores that change daily, we will use a much fairer number that will not change daily. Take the number of letters in your last name times 3 and subtract the number of letters in your first name. For example: Allen Hill 7 (4 x 3 = 12 - 5 = 7) See, simple. One more: Andy McIntosh 20 (8 x 3 = 24 - 4 = 20). Last one: Bob Templeton 24 (9 x 3 =27 - 3 = 24). Now everyone's number will always be the same, unless of course, you change your name.






This is My Final Blog

 Sad to say this is indeed my final blog, but it comes with exciting news. Shelly is pregnant with our 3rd child, and we will be moving to California to live with my daughter (from my first marriage) who has nearly the same due date. We will be able to work together raising the 2 new borns.

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. No team finished plus in any of the FBT categories. Butch wins the CTP and Doc turns 2-pair in the Card Game to give their team 2 events today despite having the worst score of the 4 teams. St. Pat's Day Sunday 3/17

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
