 The Return of Norm!


After a 7-week hiatus, Norm returns to make his first appearance of 2022. He only scored 19 points as he tried to shake off the rust. Two birdies, however, proves the veteran "Founding Father" still has some game in his golf bag. Temperatures reached into the 60's though some ground remained frozen.

The warm temperature brought out 16 players, knowing this would be our last day for a while with winter storm warnings tomorrow. (Note to Allen: Invest in an alarm clock) Far and away the highlight of the round was the performance of teammates Rick and Josh on the back 9. They each scored 19 points with the aid of 5 birdies. Roger wins the "Ringo Luckiest Man" award as the non-contributing teammate who shares in the winnings. Obviously, they win the back, but also took total. Andy joins Rick and Josh as Medalist as they all reached +5. Those 3 also tied for most points (31) along with Raymond, Randy, and Glen for an unprecedented 6-way tie. Let's see, who won the CTP? While this is Leroy's tee shot on 3, it is the form he used on 18 to notch his first CTP of the year. (It also ended Doc's losing streak.)

Rick explains this picture: "Even though my team was the big cash winner today, losing this quarter to Raymond for our side-bet makes this, at best, a break-even day."

Bob was unable to play today because he was accepting delivery of his new baby.

  Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I trust we are all treating the mothers in our lives like the queens they deserve to be treated. Hard to believe my own has been gone 41 years, but the 27 I lived with her are still as vivid as can be. Today might be Mother's Day, but Friday was certainly Mudder's Day. A seven-day layoff for BB's as our course was recovering from the deluge of constant rain. Though most of the course was okay, many swings today produced a spray of mud and water. The layoff combined with the conditions made plus golf a challenge. Tom's Medalist best +5 and Shelly's +3 were the only scores that moved their hcp# upward. St. Pat's Day Sunday 3/17

  Happy St Patrick's Day everyone. Today's edition has the final results from Thursday and Friday's rather small turnouts. But first, something new we are trying.  Many of you know today is the day the NCAA Tournament is revealed, and everyone starts filling out their brackets. Well, forget Kentucky and Kansas or Purdue or whoever! The real March Madness will take place at Kimbeland CC. Read on and fill out your bracket. The person who best predicts the outcome of all the matches will get some yet undetermined special prize, fitting the magnitude of such an event. Here are the participants and their region. In the Allen Hill Regional, Allen himself will square off with Randy. The winner will face the survivor of the Glen vs. KZ matchup. In the Andy McIntosh Regional, Doc and Jeff will meet, with the winner playing either Raymond or Leroy for the regional final. Champion Golfer Full Coverage

Champion Golfer of the Year Raymond had to be on his game to win, as there were several great rounds turned in over the two days of play. Let's start at the beginning as we go step by step through the stages of the tournament. Thursday, Day 1 Twenty-four Bud's Boys teed off in hopes of taking home the big trophy. The weather was 40 degrees warmer than day 1 last year. The scores reflected the great conditions as half the field finished in the plus column. Butch leads at +7, 1-up on Raymond, Clint, and Floyd.
