February 2022 Review

As the sun sets on the month of February, the words that come to my mind are simple. Good Riddance!
Even though Monday is the last day of the month, I am going to heed the advice of our on-course reporters Doc (who provided above picture and 2 below) and Deano and not plan on playing that day. It seems the course needs a clean-up that may take a few days.

Nearly all pine trees damaged, many, many limbs to be picked up.

It wasn't enough to be hit by the rain, (photos by Raymond)

or the snow (Sorry Billie Jo, course is closed),

but we had to be slammed with the ice.

Throw in this Florida nugget from Floyd,

and it is easy to understand our frustration. By the way Floyd, I am sure I speak for all Bud's Boys when I say I hope this shot sleeps with the gators. Bragger.

So, in anticipation of not playing Monday, here is the very brief February review. We had 4 days of play (same as 2021). Played on the 1st, waited 2 weeks, 2 more days played. Another 5-day break and our last day of play on the 21st. A total of 24 players completed 57 rounds, an average of 14 players per round. Scott, Randy, and Doc were present for all 4 rounds, while Stan, Norm, Dean, Jeff, and Kim made their 2022 debuts. Rodney topped the money list with +9, followed by Dean 8, Roger 7, and Jeff 6. As for the losers this month, we have declined to be recognized. So much for February stats.

For the year, we have one ugly blemish on our resume. It seems the good Doc is at the very bottom of our money list at -18. To be this far in debt so early, it has been suggested we start a GoFund me page so Doc can continue to play. You can contribute at this address: www.FatChanceIWillDoThat.com. Hang in there Doc, you are bound to get better teammates next month. On the plus side, Rodney is our leading money winner so far at +16, slightly ahead of Allen and Roger +12.

Speaking of Rodney, I am sure many of you have heard the very concerning news. The day after leading the field with 31 points, Rodney was hospitalized a few days. As I write this, he is at home. I will not put any details here; we will let Rodney share when he returns. Dr. Jeff suspects it was the strain of Rodney trying to keep up with Jeff's monstrous drives. Good advice for those who think they can keep up. Best wishes to Rodney and Jan, we are thinking of you.

See you in March.
