Mon Jan 10
As I read my text from the club this morning, my mind took me back to a childhood TV program. "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise" was one of Gomer Pyles' favorite lines, and I was indeed surprised to see the course open for play. Temps reached the 40's, light winds and full sun made for a quite pleasant round. The course was not a soggy mess at all, drier way beyond my expectations. I expect a bigger turnout of players tomorrow if the weather is similar to today. The round did start with some frozen ground, tough to put the tee in the ground on occasion. Ice still glazed some areas of the ponds.
Six players teed off with Roger, Glen, and Doc taking on Mikey, Randy, and Tom A.
Roger admires Glens' tee shot on 1.
There was no match to speak of as team Doc runs away with all 3 bets and Roger adds the CTP for the total takedown. Roger and Glen share Medalist at +4, Glen and Tom most points with 32.
Doc patiently waits for me to extract my 4 dollars from its hiding place. (Maybe he can use the money to add a couple more layers of clothes)
The shot of the day has to go to Tom A. This is what he faced when his tee shot on 8 hit the bank and rolled back in the pond.
As only Tom could do, he walked out to his ball and chipped on the green saving a bogey.
Way to go team DOC, you beat the big boys congrats to Roger's ctp
