 Bud's Boys Week in Review

Veterans Day Tuesday Nov 11

I usually try to post something on Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
My desire to post this Tuesday was prevented by numerous personal obstacles that needed to be addressed. These obstacles seem so insignificant if you read and think about the following.

This article was in the October 25-26 Weekend edition of the SE Missourian just a few weeks ago. You may have already read this but if not, it is worth a few minutes of your time. The article looks back at the original story by Sam Blackwell in 2000 about Richard Wilson of Cape Girardeau.

Here is a piece of the article.

It is beyond my comprehension of what thoughts go through your mind before making a decision to do what medic Wilson did. It is why I have read as much as I have and continue to marvel at what these men did for duty to country and probably more so for the man next to them.

Appreciation to all those who have served.

Jeff (+6) and Charlie (+5) led the individual scoring, but alas, neither cashed in as they were torpedoed by unfocused teammates.

Allen wins his first CTP of 2025 on his 66th attempt. his team also takes the Card Game with a modest two pair.

Amusing story after the round.

I stopped at the Rhodes between Jackson and Cape for a soft drink on the way home. I was returning to my truck when I noticed a nice little old lady looking at my truck. As I approached her, she asked, "My, what a lovely looking truck. What kind is that?" Having just washed it and being a little proud, I responded, "It's a Honda Ridgeline. It has lots of features that I like." "Well, it sure is a beauty" she answered. I reached in my pocket for my keys when the lady spoke up, "Sir, you dropped something from your pocket." I looked down and a couple of my tees fell out when I grabbed my keys. "Thanks," I said as I picked them up. "By the way, what are those things?" she asked. In a bit of a hurry, I blurted, "They are for putting your balls on when you drive." She nodded and said, "Wow, those Honda people think of everything."

Medalist Day was a tight race as Scottie and Don tie with +4's to edge out the +3's of Butch, Norris, and Ray.

Jeff, Leroy, and Ray explode for a +9 1/2 on the Back 9 to win that and the Total.

Roger wins his 2nd November CTP.

 Friday Nov 14

Roger and Marty lead team with Medalist best +5's to sweep the FBT. The teams birdie stretch from 7 through 11 win the Rabbit.

Leroy ties for Medalist with his +5 and Charlie claims his 8th CTP.

Doc attempts to solve my nagging tooth problem with help from his assistant Jeff. Don't worry, he wiped them off on his pants before surgery.
