Bud's Boys August Swan Song Results from Thursday and Friday, a big review of August results, and a few words about our 4th 'Champion Golfer of the Year' tournament coming up this coming month. Settle in and waste a few minutes reading about the antics of some very questionable looking old coots. Thursday August 28 Medalist Day brought the best out of a Mickey Mouse handful (that's 4 for those who don't remember their childhood) of Bud's Boys this Thursday. Jeff came through with a near double jump +5. Allen did double jump with a +6. Glen scores 40 points to earn his +6.  Not to be outdone, Leroy takes the day's prize with a tidy +9. Despite bogeys on #1 and # 18, Leroy pars 15 of the 16 holes in between for a 33-point performance. Throw in teammate Jeff's previously mentioned score and Scott's +1 and you have this threesome winning 4 of today's 5 events, a $72 split. Ron prevents the Royal Flush with his third CTP of the season. Friday August ...

Bud's Boys Mid-Week Update Quick wrap up of Tuesday and Wednesday play. The great break from the heat brought out 18 on Tuesday and 20 for Wednesday. Tuesday August 26 Action was razor close today as the Front was won by half a point and the Back by one though 3 teams were within 2 strokes. The Total was a tie and had to be split. Ron and Clint were Co-Medalists at +4. Clint took the CTP. Tom's birdie on 10 won the Random Skin. Marty cheers Clint after another birdie! Wednesday 8/27 Bill H and Roger are Co-Medalists at +6. Teammates Scott and Floyd add +3's as they sweep the FBT. Tom wins the CTP with a quite mediocre tee shot on #18. (Yes, it still counts the same.) A Flush wins Card Game.

Bud's Boys Week in Review A day of high scoring, a slightly high scoring day, and a day of exactly even scoring. Also, a first in BB's history. All the details plus a short story of suspicious scoring in KCC's recent 2-day tourney.  A quick read today. Tuesday Four of our six groups finished before the horn sounded to get off the course. The storm came a couple of hours earlier than predicted, wiping out today's play. Wednesday 8/20 Six 3-man teams were smacked in the face by the team of Brandon, Marty, and Ray. All three double jumped with Brandon's Medalist best plus 8 and +7's by his partners. Ray added to their take by winning his 4th CTP. Ron, Rodney, and KZ all scored +3 or better and front loaded their scoring to take the Front 9. Aces and 3's were enough for Jeff, Keith, and Butch to win the Card Game. Thursday Aug 21 Scottie wins his 2nd straight Thursday Medalist today. I guess that means next Thursday he will go for his 3rd to stamp his name on t...

Bud's Boys Weekend News  It was a hopping good time for Thursday Medalist Day in BB's world. Four double jumpers vied for today's title. Defending Thursday champ from last week, Leroy, shot an impressive +5 only to see it dwarfed by teammate Ron, who carded a more impressive +9. Their teams feeling of satisfaction didn't last long, however, when the very next group came through.  Rodney and Bill F came through with a pair of +7's, well behind their leader Scott, who coincidentally wins his 11th Medal of 2025 by reaching +11 on the day. Scott also wins his 6th CTP. The only thing keeping this team from the Royal Flush of all 5 events was that they backloaded their +25 Total by scoring +19 on the Back 9. This allowed Ron and Leroy's trio to take the Front 9 with a +7.5. The +25 surely seemed to be a record, certainly by a threesome, but something about that +25 rang a bell in the back of my mind. Sure enough, back in February of 2024, these 3 BB's put the fir...

BB's Mid Week Update Results from Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday 8/12   KZ and Rick Birthday Shoot Out Nobody won the Million Dollar Prize so it carries over to next year. Glen has the hot hand as he drops 7 birdies to offset only 2 bogeys for a sparkling 41 point performance, good for a Medalist best +8. Teammate Roger's CTP serves double duty as his birdie also wins the Random Skin. Randy and Doc both double jump with +7's. Roger likely sets a 1-day Bud's Boys record for earnings. His official take of $25 is not a record but add his unofficial winnings from the birthday side games and his total becomes $40, likely the biggest 1-day amount. Wednesday 8/13 Floyd's tee shot on 12 (from the white tees) rearranges the Red tee marker. No info given on where the ball ended up. Roger reminds everyone that it is not how well you play but how well your teammates play. His -1 score yesterday won him the most money of the day and his -3 today did not stop his squad from earn...
