November News Update Managed 3 games played before Mother Nature shut us down Thursday and Friday. Don, Raymond, and Jeff were the CTP winners this week. Butch scored +6, +6 to win Medalist Monday and Tuesday but torpedoed Raymond and Scott with a -3 on Wednesday. Rick was Wednesday Medalist, his 34 points resulting in a +4. Doc's birdie on 16 won the Tuesday Random Skin. Wednesday Card game had the most drama for the week. On his 6th card, Leroy turned a full house, 3's over 5's. Rick, the heavy favorite with 13 cards to start, still had 7 cards to better his 2-pair. Six cards later, he had 4 pairs with just the 1 card left. He matched his pair of 4's to edge Leroy with a 4's over Kings full house. But wait, Leroy still had 2 chances to turn a 3 or a 5 to pull out the victory. Alas, the luck of the cards was not with him on this day. A valiant effort fell just short. Monday doesn't look good, Tuesday good, Wed and Friday cold, but we do have tee times on Frida...

Bud's Boys Week in Review Veterans Day Tuesday Nov 11 I usually try to post something on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. My desire to post this Tuesday was prevented by numerous personal obstacles that needed to be addressed. These obstacles seem so insignificant if you read and think about the following. This article was in the October 25-26 Weekend edition of the SE Missourian just a few weeks ago. You may have already read this but if not, it is worth a few minutes of your time. The article looks back at the original story by Sam Blackwell in 2000 about Richard Wilson of Cape Girardeau. Here is a piece of the article. It is beyond my comprehension of what thoughts go through your mind before making a decision to do what medic Wilson did. It is why I have read as much as I have and continue to marvel at what these men did for duty to country and probably more so for the man next to them. Appreciation to all those who have served.  Bud's Boys November Notes The colors are a changin', which means November is here and Monday golf returns. Much wind and some slick greens made reaching your quota a challenge most players did not meet. The group was -84 for the week, but there were plenty of good performances in the midst of the chaos. Monday Nov 3 Ten BB's logged on this first November Monday. Wayne stands out with an even par 36 points for a Medalist best +8. His team takes 3 of the 5 events. Raymond was close behind with a +6 33 points and his 9th CTP. Tuesday Nov 4 Constant gusty winds and hard greens add up to the lowest scoring of the week. The group ends up a total of -49 with no player handicap moving up. Rick and Don share Medalist honors with +2.  Rick's birdie on #5 wins the Random Skin, Butch takes the CTP. Jeff presents Leroy a belated birthday gift. Weds Nov 5 Scoring improves slightly. Randy posts a +7 and Wayne a +6 but neither figure in today's winners. Bill H cards a +3 to go wit...
